The evening begins at 6.00pm with a drinks reception in the Gallery. Dinner will be served in the Riverside Suite at 7.00pm. After a superb three-course dinner with wine, our guest speaker will entertain members and guests. For those who enjoy a night-cap, a cash bar will be open after dinner.

Ticket prices are inclusive of the drinks reception, three-course dinner with wine. Seating will be at tables of ten.

About Vince Cable..

Vince Cable first attracted national attention in 2003. As the Liberal Democrat's newly appointed Treasury Spokesman he questioned whether the apparent strength of the economy was only being sustained by record levels of personal debt.

Despite serving as the Lib Dems' Deputy Leader and Acting Leader, his role as Treasury Spokesman t has kept him in the public eye. As the recession and banking crisis loomed Cable was generally recognised as "a safe pair of hands".

Prior to the 2005 Liberal Democrat party conference, Cable did not rule out the possibility that the Lib Dems might form a coalition government with the Conservative Party in the event of a hung parliament at the next General Election.

He is currently the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills for  the new coalition government.  His department is tasked with building a dynamic and competitive UK economy by creating the right conditions for business success including innovation, enterprise and providing everyone with the right skills to succeed.
