On October 13th South London Business will be hosting an exclusive evening event with the Rt. Hon. Vince Cable, MP for Twickenham and Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.
Vince Cable first attracted national attention in 2003. As the Liberal Democrat’s newly appointed Treasury Spokesman he questioned whether the apparent strength of the British economy was
nothing more than false economics, with the markets only being sustained by record levels of personal debt.
Seen as an ally of then Chancellor Gordon Brown, Cable raised a few political eyebrows at the Liberal Democrat party conference in the run up to the 2005 General Election by refusing to rule out the possibility that the Liberal Democrats could form a coalition government with the
Conservative Party in the event of a hung parliament.
South London Business is looking forward to hearing more about how business, innovation and skills will be shaped by the new Secretary of State at their exclusive networking dinner at the London Film Museum, Waterloo.
The evening will begin at 6.00pm with a drinks reception in the Gallery (sponsored by Towergate Partnership), followed by a three course dinner in the Riverside Suite at 7.00 pm. Drawing on his experience as a longstanding local MP and from a large Department at the centre of Government, Vince Cable will then share his views and vision for business, the Coalition and the wider economy.
This event is extremely popular so book early to avoid disappointment. To book or for further information, contact the events team on 020 8253 4293 or e-mail events@southlondonbusiness.co.uk.
