Build South London
Partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund the Build South London project is designed to assist businesses in accessing contracts specifically within the construction sector.
Working with local businesses based within the twelve South London Boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Croydon, Greenwich, Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond, Southwark, Sutton and Wandsworth.
Our aim is to ensure that local businesses within these boroughs are supported through a series of events, workshops and one-to-one sessions that will eventually lead to the viable sustainability of your business.
The focal point of the project is to develop both the supply and demand sides of construction activity, creating a route to market all construction related business support and supply chain opportunities.
To help support this initiative we have created the Build South London Network, a web portal where all contract opportunities and other relevant information can be accessed by both local businesses and main contractors.
Who does it apply to?
Small and medium sized businesses can join the Build South London network and they will discover what they need to know and do to compete more effectively in the supply chain enabling the network to provide demand led business and skills development support.
Why would the Apprenticeships Project benefit me?
You will be provided access to the business, skills support and mentoring needed for individual local businesses to improve and develop so they can get work in the supply chain.
You can attend networking events and workshops - that bring procurer main contractors and business support organisations together with local businesses.
Good practice workshops in each participating Borough.
A referral mechanism to other appropriate business support programmes working in close partnership with Business Link and Borough based business support initiatives.
A searchable online database and website advertising supply chain opportunities and offering work experience placements and apprentice sharing facilities.
Links to register on Compete4 (the Olympic contract database), ConstructionLine or EXOR for businesses with the existing capability to meet their criteria.
How much does it cost?
The services offered under this project is free to businesses based within the South London Boroughs.
