Time & Leisure's Fashion Night Out sponsored by HSBC created a huge buzz at Warren House as celebrity guests enjoyed the new Spring Summer 10 designer collections and London Wasps players formed the highlight of the catwalk show.
Glamorous guests were snapped on arrival at Warren House and then moved in to enjoy a sparkling champagne reception and exclusive designer shopping before taking their seats for the catwalk show. Celebrities attending included: author Lynda La Plante; England rugby player Danny Cipriani; designer Paul Costelloe; champion boxer John Conteh; Strictly Come Dancing star Ray Fearon and actress Haydn Gwynne who introduced the show.
The runway was filled with colour as the models wearing DKNY cozies filled the ballroom. Nicole Farhi’s SS10 collection had a distinctive 80s flair with new season peaches, greens and oranges. Sensational chic from Max Mara preceded Diane Von Furstenburg's iconic collection. Paul Costelloe's catwalk collection, as seen at London Fashion Week, created a dramatic statement with punchy pinks, tailored waists, puff ball skirts and pleated details.
The stars of the show, London Wasps rugby players, strutted their stuff in Raging Bull leisure wear, squeezing into well-fitted t-shirts, cargo shorts and sweatshirts and creating ripples of excitement in the audience.
All eyes were on the catwalk for the Rigby & Peller scene: the girls modelled fifties-inspired lingerie while Wasps’ Dominic Waldock and Rob Webber showcased Calvin Kleins, eliciting great whoops of appreciation from the audience before the grand finale. The girls - adorned in sensational sparkly dresses by Chrisanne as seen on Strictly Come Dancing - were partnered by the Wasps players - wearing Dressed to Kill formal wear suits – and treated the audience to some Strictly moves.
Charity Auction in aid of Alzheimer’s Society
The evening, held in aid of Alzheimer's Society, finished with a charity auction and raffle hosted by John Conteh and ex-England rugby player Chris Sheasby, providing huge entertainment, energy and enthusiasm to raise over £5,000.
"It was great to be part of a team where sport and fashion came together to support such a worthy cause"
