Croydon Youth Enterprise Celebration

17th November 2008

My name is Justyn Hollett, I am 15 yrs old and currently attending The BRIT Performing Arts and Technology College where I am undertaking my GCSE's.

I have organized the first Croydon Youth Enterprise Celebration event which will be held at Crystal Palace Football Grounds on January 10th 2009.
The event is to raise awareness of enterprise and celebrate the achievements of youth in the borough of Croydon. The aim of this event is too make the youth of Croydon think and question the prospects of 'being their own boss' and 'starting their own businesses', its to change the youth's ideas and concepts into reality by provide solid, visual, creative, straightforward examples of successful businesses and entrepreneurs that have made it.

The event is also for the youth to showcase their many talents and have a voice about what they want Croydon to be. It too make the youth more open and aware of the concerns of Croydon- form the street to the buildings and all aspect other involved.
It is designed to give youth and the community a chance to come together as one and discuss issues and solutions to the many causes of concern in Croydon, this will be done by making a step towards what the community and most important what the youth want.

The event will become an annual occasion being held at many venues all over Croydon and London. It will bring more of the youth together, breaking barriers and causing cohesion and giving them an active voice to showcase their issues, ideas and thoughts of what makes our community what it is and provide opportunities for them to achieve and further themselves in the future, and therefore getting them to plan this event in the future so they can have a active role in getting involved in the community.
