How to get involved
Applications to take part in Deptford X 2009 won't be available until 8th June 2009, but we want you to start thinking about possible projects.
This year there will be three ways for artists to take part in Deptford X 2009
1. The Selected Programme
Submission is open to any artist / artist group / curator living or working in Greater London.
You will need create a piece work to be exhibited in Deptford, either in the public domain, or within a specific venue.
Selected artists / groups or curators will be awarded £1,000 to realise their selected project.
2.Deptford X Award, sponsored by South London Business
The Deptford X Award is open to any artist living or working in South East London.
A panel of judges will select five artists who will each receive £400 to realise their project.
The award is for artists to develop work in the public domain. One artist will be chosen form those selected to receive the Deptford X Award and a cheque for £500.
3.The Invited Programme
The Invited programme is open to any artist living or working in the Deptford postcode area (SE8).
Although there is no funding available, selected artists will be invited to take part in Deptford X and will be included in the Deptford X 2009 programme.
Projects can take place in any location throughout Deptford.
Notes
Projects will be selected by a panel of judges including a high profile contemporary artist.
Deptford based artists can apply for all three programmes.
Artists will need to have their own insurance and be responsible for the installation and taking down of their work.
