Gateway Asia

j

Business development and growth is dependent upon accessing good markets with growth potential.  Many small businesses seek to start-up and expand within ‘crowded’ and limited home front markets, overlooking, or unaware of, the potential of selling their goods and services internationally. Unbeknown to them, British goods and services are sought after in many foreign markets.

Funded through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Gateway Asia aims to support sustainable business growth for SMEs, improving their understanding of international opportunities and increasing their trading skills in Southeast Asia with particular focus on India and China. Building their capacity and knowledge to successfully carry out international trade.

Gateway Asia outreaches to London’s priority groups delivering new, additional, intensive and bespoke support to enable SMEs to understand and seize international sales opportunities in Asia.

Gateway Asia is designed to build on current market intelligence, complement and add value to the GLE/UKTI programme with a particular focus on the emerging Asian markets.

The project aims are to:

• Improve the proportion of businesses trading internationally focusing on new emerging markets
• Assist and develop new market entry to emerging countries through the design and implementation of customised business support.
• Provide bespoke specialist support to individual SMEs who already trade or are seriously considering entering trading with emerging countries
• Facilitate business-to-business and partnering opportunities between SMEs in West and South London and overseas businesses.

If you are a Croydon based business looking to expand into new markets and are interested in trading internationally in the Asian markets then this event is ideal for you.
