HAVE YOUR SAY ON MAYORAL PRIORITIES FOR TRANSPORT IMPROVEMENTS IN SOUTH LONDON

Companies in south London are being invited to a presentation and discussion on south London's major transport priorities to be held at 5pm - 7pm on the 4th December 2008 at the Battersea Power Station. The event, co-hosted by South London Business and South London Partnership will touch on the focus on the needs of south London's business community and what can be done to ease commuter congestion and make the movement of goods and services around and through south London easier.

WHAT DO WE WANT FOR SOUTH LONDON?

  • Improved transport network - increased capacity
  • More people using public transport and fewer car journeys
  • Adequate transport infrastructure to ensure future employment growth and competiveness
  • Closure of the North London/South London transport gap and more investment for South London

WHAT DO WE NEED TO ACHIEVE THIS?

  • South London's major transport priorities will have an economic impact on the wider sub region over the next 20 years.  So it's important for businesses in South London to make their voice heard to ensure investment decisions secure continued competitiveness, access to customers and skilled staff.  This event aims to identify what would help take the priorities forward and your views will be important. Some of the improvements to consider include:
  • Improvements to all rail stations in South London
  • Improvements to the South London overground system - including tramlink extensions and general increased capacity
  • Better integration between transport schemes at major interchanges, particularly in Town Centres
  • Ensuring the use of Waterloo International train paths and platforms for South London local services
