I am pleased to announce that today BT Regions has launched the 2008 Home Business Report, produced by Enterprise Nation and sponsored by BT Regions.
The report has been launched as part of Small Business Week 2008 and highlights a 16 per cent rise over the last year in the number of businesses being run from home. There are now more than 2.5 million home businesses, accounting for more than half (53 per cent) of the 4.7 million small and medium sized enterprises in the UK. The evidence is clear - this is fast becoming a growing sector of the UK small business community.
The report offers the reasons why home business is proving to be such a popular way of working and shows the range and diversity of what's happening behind residential doors, by profiling 16 home business owners across the UK Regions. They show that regardless of age, gender, background or location that anyone can run a business from home. It also includes the 'Enterprise Nation Index' – listing the Top 50 Home Business hotspots ranked by postal code district and based on home business start up data over the last 12 months.
The 2008 Home Business Report is available to download in full at: www.enterprisenation.com or at BT Regions website - http://www.btplc.com/Thegroup/BTUKandWorldwide/BTRegions/England/Factsandfigures/Factsandfigures.htm
