Red tape challenge kicks off

The government has launched a website to give the public and businesses a chance to scrutinise the 21,000 rules and regulations that govern daily life.  This will help the process of amending or removing the most arbitrary regulations from business and society. 

For businesses the campaign will have six cross regulation themes which will be reviewed by the government every 4 months. These include employment law, pensions and Health and safety. The campaign will last until April 2013.
