SLB Apprenticeship Training Agency

*SLB ATA is a member of The Confederation of Apprenticeship Training Agencies (COATA) http://coata.co.uk/

SLB Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) is a programme where host employers take on young people full-time for a period on nine months in real administration and logistics jobs. The focus is to help young people gain real work experience at their placement which is part of completing their logistics / administrative based apprenticeship, of which the other part is an NVQ.

As a host employer we will follow your recruitment guidelines - and ensure that any of the candidates that we put forward meet your minimum standard. The NVQ element of the apprenticeship can be supported by either your internal training department, or we will pair you with an industry recognised training provider that can deliver this for you.

Who does it apply to?

Apprentices must be between the ages of 16 to 18 and host employers can be any company nationwide.*

Why would the SLB ATA Project benefit me?

  • We carry out all the HR tasks for the host employer and pay the apprentice £2.72 an hour based on a 40 hour week.

  • This programme is a hassle-free way for a host employer to recruit a willing young person to their team and boost productivity and staff retention..

  • We give Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) to the young person before and during their training.

  • This is an optimal way of training, and developing skilled young people to prepare them for the future.

Who has this project helped in the past?

"I left school at 16 and didn't manage to get into college so started working from then on. I heard about this apprenticeship scheme through a friend. This (PF Whitehead) is a very good place to work. I see myself staying here."

-    Tom Coyne

"We were initially alerted to a logistics apprenticeship scheme through the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) who put us in touch with SLB Logistics. The support we have received to place young apprentices at all of our UK depots has been excellent. Not only do SLB advertise in the vicinity of our depots, they also screen the candidates prior to putting them forward for interview."

-    Ben Morris, Managing Director - Howard Tenens

How much does it cost?

SLB Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) is available to employers from just £156.10 a week for each apprentice working 40 hours per week. The apprentice would receive £108.80 of this per week and £47.30 per week is used to cover our running costs.
