A vision for outer London – First Thoughts- A presentation with William McKee CBE

2.30pm - 4.45pm, Tuesday 3RD March 2009,
Twickenham Stadium, Rugby Road, Twickenham TW1 1DZ

I am delighted to invite you to attend a presentation by William McKee CBE Chair of the Outer London Commission followed by a question and answer session. Last week, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson called for a radical rethink of the role outer London boroughs can play in helping the capital through the current economic downturn. Speaking ahead of the inaugural meeting of his Outer London Commission, the Mayor said outer London areas have the potential to revitalise the capital's economy and boost future growth.

The Mayor's Outer London Commission, chaired by William McKee, will advise the Mayor on changes to the London Plan in respect to outer London boroughs as well as looking at how to take forward the work outlined in the Mayor's Economic Recovery Action Plan. William McKee is a former Director General of the British Property Fed eration and former Chief Executive of Merton Council.  He is currently Chairman of Tilfen Land and the Urban Exposure Group and chairs the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation.

This free event has been organised to give South London businesses like yours the opportunity to find out what the Outer London Commission will be doing to support the development and economic growth of outer London boroughs. This is also your opportunity to share your thoughts with William McKee on what you would like the Outer London Commission to do.

If you would like to join us on 3rd March please contact Julie Leggatt on 020 8256 1286 or email: events@southlondonbusiness.co.uk with 'OLC Event' in the subject line. Further information will then be sent closer to the event.
