‘Making a lasting difference to lives and communities’: join the transformation!
South London YMCA is looking for new Board members.
We provide a range of supported housing services for almost 500 homeless people in Croydon, Lambeth and Southwark. Over the next five years, we plan to transform all our properties thorough a £25m redevelopment programme, so that those living in them have a better chance to turn their lives around and live independently.
We are looking for people who :-
Our Board meets approximately six times a year, usually in Croydon or Stockwell. All Board members work on a voluntary basis (though reasonable expenses including travel are covered), but the role offers many rewards and the chance to make a real difference.
We would particularly like to hear from you if you have skills or experience in: Supported Housing - particularly senior strategic management of services funded by ‘Supporting People’; legal issues; human resources; fundraising, communications and PR; property and development; finance and audit. We also welcome applications from people who have experience of using services for homeless people.
We are keen that our Board reflects the full diversity of our customers, and, to this end, we would particularly welcome applications from people from black and minority ethnic groups, women, people with disabilities, and people from the LGBT community.
For an informal discussion about this key role, please contact the Chair, David Fitze, or the Chief Executive, Jeremy Gray, on 020 7101 9960.
