Centronic:
“We have been at this site since the 1950s and the lease was due to expire. We were faced with the decision of could we stay or should we go, which would have meant breaking up the company and possibly moving it abroad. The advice and support provided by South London Business enabled us to identify a solution to our planning and site constraints allowing us to develop the site. SLB then brokered a successful application to the LDA for an investment grant (SFIE).”
Thanks to support and advice from the City Growth team at South London Business and grant aid from the London Development Agency, Centronic has been able to remain at its New Addington factory. Most of Centronic’s 75 employees live in the borough of Croydon and the company is hoping to create a further nine jobs in the next three years. Its present workforce includes 20% graduates and five PhDs.
