‘The Future of London’s Transport Network’ with Peter Hendy, Commissioner for Transport for London.  8th March 2007 – 6pm, Jurys Inn, Croydon.

In association with Arrowcroft Plc, we are pleased to confirm that Peter Hendy, Commissioner for Transport for London, will visit South London on Thursday 8th March 2007.  If transport issues are impacting on your business, this is your opportunity to meet the man in charge of London’s transport network.

For an economy to be successful its businesses must be able to move their people and products efficiently and effectively. This is no surprise; it is one of the founding principles of modern economics. Historically, London has been a major international transport hub. From the trading ships sailing up the Thames 100 years ago, to the tens of thousands of passengers that arrive and depart from London’s airports and railways stations each day, London has thrived on its ability to move people and products. However, whilst it is easy to travel in and out of Central London, it is not so easy to travel across South London. Of the companies that completed our recent business survey, 20% confirmed that they were located in South London for its good local and regional transport links. However, 10% reported that poor orbital transport links were impacting on their bottom line.  Almost half of all respondents asked us to make lobbying for transport infrastructure improvements in South London a priority for 2007.  The man in charge of London’s transport network is Peter Hendy, Commissioner for Transport for London. As a result of our survey, we invited Mr. Hendy to meet local businesses and share his plans with us for South London.  The Commissioner will be guest speaker at our event, at Jurys Inn – Croydon, on Thursday 8th March, and I hope you are able to join us.

If you would like to attend, please complete the RSVP form. A confirmation letter and further details will be sent closer to the event.
